Archangel Michael: The Nature of the Ego
Channel: Victoria Cochrane | Source
Why do people have an ego, which can sometimes be misleading? The nature of the ego can be very dark; there are many urges that can pull a person into behaviours or habits that are not for their highest and best, and that impact on others in a negative or anti-social way. When a person gives in to the urges and temptations that the ego offers, it can lead to them being swayed off their spiritual path into another that is unknown and often unhealthy, leading straight to karmic repercussions.
The ego, however, is not evil, and there is a reason all humans have one. It is the voice that tells you how great you are, and every human on Earth must hold self-belief to be able to hold their position in the world with confidence. A healthy ego is essential to allow you to love, accept and respect yourself as a valuable and valued member of society. An inflated ego, however, will allow your mind to play tricks on you, telling you that you are better than others, more worthy and, therefore, exempt from the rules that would otherwise apply to all, including you.
A child who grows up in a loving home will most likely learn that all people are equal and deserving of respect. As they grow older, hey will feel loved and valued, enabling them to celebrate their own successes while allowing others to achieve success without feeling jealous. People who have had neglectful and unloving childhoods, however, have learned that love and loyalty must be fought for and won, not achieved, and are therefore more likely to have trouble sharing stories and successes. If they feel worthless, they are more likely to develop strategies for putting people down in order to make themselves look or feel better in other people’s eyes, but this strategy rarely fools people for long; it is easy to see through a person who doesn’t believe themselves what they are trying to tell you!
There are many instances of unhealthy egos in the leaders of the world at present, the majority of them being male, but not all. Leaders must believe in their vision and get their followers on board to allow the vision to grow into reality. However, a good leader will facilitate growth and leadership in others, enabling their people to develop skills to benefit the organisation as a whole. Everything and everyone will blossom and thrive. If, however, a leader becomes a dictator, the resulting disempowerment of their people will only lead to disillusionment, resentment and unrest. In this energy, democracy dies and the souls of the leaders, as well as their people, begin to wither.
The Universal Ego accepts that all is one and that everyone is equal and the same. Therefore, in the energy of Oneness, every person can expect to be treated with respect and generosity, accepted for their differences and loved for their uniqueness. In a supportive, nurturing environment, a person will have much more opportunity to value their worth and to put themselves first when necessary, but not at the expense of any other person. This is what people expect of their leaders, and the absence of empathy and compassion in many of the world’s leaders at the moment is causing a widening rift between those in power and those whose livelihoods depend on them as leaders to keep them healthy, abundant and safe. People with inflated egos and flashy displays help no-one but themselves.
If your ego is telling you that you are either no good or better than anyone else, you have work to do! Whatever you believe about yourself will project out to others and will be a radar for them to either trust and believe in you, or to distrust you and to therefore disassociate with you in order to protect their own energy.
I AM Archangel Michael.
